Excellent phone at an affordable price.

Got this the very next day with prime. My tmobile sim card from the other phone fit fine (they have a spot for the micro sim caard too) Was tricky figuring out how to turn my location on but i figured that out shortly with a look at the settings because just simple pressing the bottom was not working. Turned on fine did have to be charged and I was texting going on the internet and making phone calls within minutes.

So I broke my Samsung Galaxy S4 unfortunately, and I've been looking for a new phone on a college kid's budget. Since I'm an Android fan, I definitely wouldn't mind having the brand-new Samsung Galaxy S7....what I would mind, however, is paying the $500+ to get it.

After checking out a few phones on Amazon I stumbled across this beauty. I thought I would have to settle for a phone such as this, but is it really settling if this J7 gives just about as much as the S7, at a fraction of the cost?

The phone came brand new as expected in the retail shipping box. The contents of the box were complete as well:
  • Samsung Galaxy J7
  • 3000 mAh Battery
  • Earbuds (Bonus!)
  • Quick Start Guide/Warranty Card(s)
  • Wall Outlet (which is actually not an American wall outlet, fair warning. Luckily for me I still have the charger I used with my S4, so it's all good.)
  • USB Cable

I'm a T-Mobile customer and the phone works PERFECTLY for me. All I had to do was transfer my SIM card from my S4 to the J7, transfer my microSD card as well and it was ready to go.

It comes with Android 6.0.1 (Lollipop) which is actually a really good thing for me, because I was worried I'd have to upgrade it manually. Now the J7 does lack a few small things, which I expected because I did a lot of research on this phone before buying it (and expecting a phone to have everything at a price like this is wishful thinking). The two side buttons on the dock aren't backlit, there's no auto-brightness sensor and the phone lacks an IR blaster (which doesn't even matter to me), but if you can look past things like these then this phone just might be for you. In fact, while the phone is lacking a few features it actually makes up for it in other places, like the front LED flash that the camera has, or even the fact that the memory is expandable (up to 128 GB) and that the battery is removable--the S7 lacks all 3 of these features.

The size upgrade was also a nice feature as well. My S4's screen size was 5" while this phone's is 5.5"; half an inch may not seem like a big difference, but I've uploaded a size comparison of this phone next to my broken S4 for you to see.

PROS:
  • Sizeable phone, so if you're worried about texting problems or you want to watch things on here (i.e. YouTube or Netflix) then worry no more
  • Comes with the latest Android OS, so no need to worry about upgrades (in fact, there's speculation about the J7 getting Android Nougat...)
  • From what I've heard, this phone has just about the best battery life ever, letting you go up to ~8 hours of screen time and still having about %50 left at the end of the day
  • Features Dual SIM card slots and expandable memory
  • Since this phone isn't from any particular carrier, it doesn't come preloaded with useless apps that take up space. Only a few apps from Google and Microsoft.

CONS:
  • Not completely sure about this, but I believe the phone only comes with 3G LTE instead of 4G (T-Mobile exclusive)
  • Dock isn't backlit
  • No Auto Brightness sensor

In the end, I would go as far as to say that the J7 is probably the best phone out there at this cost (in case the price changes, I bought it for $203). If you don't mind missing out on a few small features, and would still like a "high-end" phone at a mid-range cost, then put take my word for it and try this phone out. Hope you enjoyed reading this review :)

A very nice phone. Exceeded my expectations

Very nice features especially the front camera. Picture quality is great. This phone works anywhere. I am from the Caribbean and the phone worked as soon as I inserted my sim card. It's a great buy. Will definitely recommend this to anyone.

I like the phone very much, but it was not unlocked as was claimed. I contacted Amazon Customer Care when I realised my sim card did not work in the phone. was advised to contact Samsung which I did but was not able to resolve the problem. When I returned to Trinidad I took the phone to a phone establishment to see if they could help in solving the problem and they confirmed that the phone was locked. I had to pay US45.00 to have the phone unlocked. I again contacted Amazon Customer Care and told them that I was sold a locked phone and wanted to be reimbursed the $45.00 paid and was advised that they couldn't facilitate me. I have always experienced good service from Amazon but this time I feel let down.

I had only $300 left and I need a phone to be safe while in school so I took the leap of faith and bought this phone for $219. With Amazon Prime, it came in two days and in perfect shape. I don't regret my purchase and I am glad I made it. There's nothing really negative I can say about this phone because everything is perfect. It even gives you the option to upgrade to Marshmallow.

The battery life lasts all day. I charged my phone at 8am and it is 8:20pm right now and I still have 46% left. The video quality is the best I've ever seen coming from a not so great Galaxy Core Prime c:

The camera is perfect just in low light it is kinda noisy and the colours are a slightly more saturated than they look in real life.

The phone is easy to work and you get a loottt of space and the gold colour is beautiful. When you run your fingers over thebscreen it feels smoth like butter. There's no lags or glitches. It takes a while to fully charge though. The only thing I can say that isn't a pro to this phone is the autofocus. The autofocus drives you insane.

Buy this phone you wont regret it. STOP PROCRASTINATING AND SECOND GUESSING!!! GET IT FELLOW COSTUMER!! HURRY BEFORE THEY'RE OUT OF THE PRICE GOES UP.
